Fall Bridal Session at Davis & Grey Farms
Bridal Session Davis Grey Farms: Nicole’s Sunny and Editorial Bridals
Nicole’s bridal session at Davis & Grey Farms was everything I love – great light, a gorgeous dress, and an amazing bride who fully trusted the process. We met on a warm, sunny afternoon, and the light couldn’t have been more perfect. She wore a stunning gown from Blushing Bride Boutique, and hair and makeup were on point thanks to JM Glamour.
Soft Light, Shadow Play & Bridal Session Magic
We started upstairs in the bridal suite, where the natural light spilled in just right. Then we headed downstairs to find some moodier pockets of window light. I love when I get the chance to use shadows and contrast in my photography. Her dress, her smile and the light all came together perfectly. One of my favorite things about a bridal session Davis Grey Farms allows is slowing down and playing with different types of light and movement. There’s no rush, just space to be present.
Minimal, Modern, and Light-Filled Chapel
Next, we stepped into the chapel. This part of the bridal session at Davis Grey Farms always feels like magic. The space is bright and modern, with white walls, clean lines, and those bold black pews. Nicole looked stunning walking through the space. The way the light bounced off the walls gave the whole room an ethereal glow.
Contrast and Style in the Groom’s Suite
One of the most fun parts of Nicole’s bridal session at Davis Grey Farms was using the groom’s suite for something bold. I love getting to use the groom’s suite for bridals since it’s not available on the weddding day during the getting ready portion with a bride. The black wall made her dress and blonde hair pop like crazy. This is where we leaned into a more dramatic look—still bridal, but a little fashion-forward. It gave us something completely different from the softness of the chapel.
Golden Hour to Wrap It All Up
Of course, we ended with golden hour outside. That soft, glowy sunlight and a hint of sun flare made every frame feel romantic and warm. Nicole looked totally at ease, soaking it all in. Bridal sessions at Davis Grey Farms always seem to end with the prettiest sunsets. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a shoot.
Why I Love Bridal Sessions
Bridal sessions like Nicole’s are some of my favorites to photograph. They’re relaxed, personal, and creative. It’s a chance to really get to know my brides, explore the venue, and make images that feel intentional. There’s no wedding day timeline, no pressure, just space to create and connect.
They’re also incredibly helpful. Testing out your hair and makeup is so valuable. It’s a chance as a bride to notice a few small things you may want to tweak for your wedding day—like the tone of brows, shade of your lip or adjusting how your hair frames your face. You also get to try out your shoes, bouquet, veil, and see how everything feels when you’re actually moving around in it.
Planning Your Own Bridal Session
If you’re considering a bridal session, I usually suggest scheduling it at least four weeks before your wedding. That gives me time to get the photos back to you in case you want to print any for the wedding day. But if you don’t need the photos printed for your wedding day, we can plan closer to your wedding date. I’ve done bridal sessions the same week as the wedding!
Another bonus: Bring a bouquet similar to what you’ll have on your wedding day. It really pulls the whole look together and gives you something beautiful to hold and move with. And yes—bring your veil. Even if you’re undecided. Long, flowy veils are such a versatile accessory. They help with posing, add movement, and photograph beautifully.
Also: wear your wedding shoes. Use this time to break them in and see how they feel. Try walking, standing, sitting—bridal sessions are the perfect trial run for the real thing.
Bridal Session at Davis & Grey Farms: A Favorite for a Reason
This venue is seriously one of the best spots for bridals. It offers so much variety in one location. You get the clean, bright indoor chapel, the stylish groom’s suite, the beautiful bridal room, and of course the golden fields outside. The textures, light, and layout make it easy to get a ton of variety in a short amount of time.
Nicole’s bridal session at Davis Grey Farms was one of my favorites this past fall season. She was confident, radiant, and truly present in every moment. And when a bride feels like that? The photos just speak for themselves.
