Springtime Bridal Session in North Texas
Ashley’s bridal session at Davis & Grey Farms was the perfect combination of light, elegance, and intentional beauty. Dressed in her stunning Kitty Chen Couture gown, Ashley embraced the moment with grace and confidence. The gown featured a detachable floor-length cape that floated behind her as she moved. It was paired with a cathedral-length veil that added a romantic softness to every frame.
We were lucky with a sunny day at Davis & Grey Farms. It gave us the perfect opportunity to explore a variety of lighting throughout the session. From bright, full sun on the property’s green outdoor areas to the dramatic light and shadows inside the indoor chapel, we captured a wide range of portraits that reflect Ashley’s radiant personality and classic style.
Bridal Portraits with Natural Light and Classic Textures
One of my favorite parts of photographing bridal sessions at Davis & Grey Farms is the versatility of the venue. Ashley, her mom, and a few close family friends joined us for the afternoon.
We began in the bridal suite, where soft indoor window light highlighted the elegant draping of Ashley’s gown. Her hair and makeup, beautifully styled by Modern MUA, were timeless and polished. As we moved to the indoor chapel, the light shifted beautifully throughout the white space. Ashley’s veil caught the natural light streaming through the large windows, creating ethereal shadows and glow across the floor.
Outdoors, we explored the sunlit green spaces that surrounded the venue. Ashley’s gown, veil, and cape moved beautifully in the breeze. We even visited the groom’s suite for a few portraits—a space that on wedding days is nearly impossible to access for bridals. These unique settings gave us creative freedom to capture a diverse gallery of bridal portraits that feel classic but full of movement.
Why I Love Bridal Sessions
Bridal sessions are more than just a southern tradition—they’re an opportunity to slow down and be intentional. On a wedding day, the energy is electric, but the timeline can be fast-paced and tight. A bridal session at Davis & Grey Farms gives you the time and space to use areas that might be unavailable on wedding day.
It’s a chance to get comfortable in your gown and trail test hair and makeup. It also gave her mom and friends a chance to join in the experience and celebrate with her. These sessions allow me to focus on creative details even more. The way the light hits the veil, how the fabric moves, and moments of quiet confidence that often don’t surface in the rush of the wedding.
I also incorporated a few film images adding a soft, nostalgic touch to Ashley’s gallery. The grain and tones of film felt especially fitting with her elegant look and the springtime setting.
