Wedding Photographer Outfits and Gear

When I’m photographing a wedding, what I wear and what I carry really matters. I need to look polished, feel comfortable, and move freely. Here’s a full list of my favorite wedding photographer outfits and gear and little extras I always bring with me to weddings—plus why I love each one.

What I Wear

Wide-Leg Pants

These are flattering, breathable, and easy to move in for long days on my feet.

Favorite Tees & Layers

Soft, breathable layers that feel pulled-together without being fussy. I typically wear some form of a black shirt on wedding days. Every now and then a white or off white top. I chose these colors so that my clothing is leaving no color cast on my clients. White is my go-to shirt top color for all portrait sessions to reflect light back into their faces on close-up portraits!

Accessories & Footwear

Simple, versatile pieces that elevate the whole outfit.

What’s In My Camera Bag

Core Gear

Reliable tools that help me shoot efficiently in any lighting or environment.

  • Canon R6 Mark II – My main camera body. It’s fast, responsive, and handles low light like a dream.
  • Canon RF Lenses – I love the sharpness and flexibility of RF glass for everything from portraits to ceremony wide shots.

Straps & Carry

Function + comfort = non-negotiable when shooting 8–10 hours.

Bags

I rotate between these depending on what I a photographing! The roller bag comes with more for almost every photoshoot including weddings, branding shoots, studio sessions and traveling. I’ll use my camera backpack as a carry on for travel too but mainly use this for local sessions like engagements and family sessions.

  • Brevite The Jumper Camera Backpack – Compact and stylish—perfect for engagement sessions and light travel days. I chose the red bag so that when clients are looking for me out in public I am easy to find! “You’ll find me by the fountain with the red backpack”.

Final Thoughts

Everything here—from the wedding photographer outfits I wear and gear I trust —is what helps me show up with confidence and focus. I want to move freely, feel like myself, and be fully present to capture your story with care.

If you’re another photographer building your wedding day kit, or just curious about what’s in my bag, I hope this was helpful!
