Bold + Colorful Wedding at Davis & Grey Farms in Celeste, Texas
Colorful Details from a Wedding at Davis & Grey Farms
The sky stayed overcast all day, but the joy never dimmed. From the very first moment, this wedding at Davis & Grey Farms felt alive, heartfelt, and full of bold color and vibrant love.
Kaitlyn wore a sparkling glitter gown from Terry Costa Bridal paired with a cathedral-length veil. Her look was modern and glamorous, full of movement and effortless drama. Every step she took shimmered, the veil trailing behind like it was part of the celebration itself. Her hourglass silhouette and polished styling brought just the right amount of bridal elegance with a playful edge.
The wedding party dressed in sleek black outfits, adding a fashion-forward contrast that made everything feel fresh and bold. The florals by Haute Poppies Floral were saturated with bright oranges, hot pinks, and vibrant yellow—vivid colors that popped against the black and the venue’s clean white backdrop. The high-contrast palette created a dynamic visual story in every frame.
Even with gray skies overhead, the energy and color of the day was bright and beautiful.
Remy the Dog: From Engagement Session to Cake Topper
When we were planning their late fall engagement session, I asked Alex and Kaitlyn what they loved to do together. They brought up their dog Remy—so naturally, he joined the engagement shoot. We started at a dog park and Remy made it into several sweet photos. Then we took it to one of my favorite fields that was full of beautiful blooms at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.

Remy the dog didn’t attend the wedding, but he still made an appearance. His cute little face was printed on the cocktail napkins and there was a small Remy figurine on the wedding cake by Sweet Boom Bakery. It was the perfect personal touch. See the photos below 🙂
A first look that hit hard at the Chapel
Alex and Kaitlyn chose to share a private first look inside the venue’s intimate indoor chapel. The moment he saw her, Alex’s emotion took over. He teared up immediately. Kaitlyn smiled back at him, and I could feel how grounded they were in that moment together. After the first look they exchanged gifts. Kaitlyn received a beautiful necklace that Alex help her put on. Alex received a new custom engraved Bible.
First looks never take away from the aisle moment—and this wedding proved that perfectly.
When Kaitlyn walked down the aisle later that day, Alex teared up again. Two emotional moments. One quiet and personal. One shared with everyone they love. It’s what I always tell my couples—having a first look gives you more, not less.
Also—Alex fist-bumped Kaitlyn’s dad right before the ceremony. I caught it on camera, and it’s one of my favorite frames from the day.
Reception Highlights at Davis & Grey Farms
This wedding had some incredible reception ideas that were both unique and interactive.
First up—beer burros. Actual donkeys wearing floral garlands and carrying drinks during cocktail hour. They were a hit. Guests were laughing, petting the donkeys, and snapping photos nonstop. It was a surprise that added fun and charm right from the start of the evening.
Once guests entered the reception space, they found scratch-off lottery tickets waiting at each seat. Each one included a coin and a note that read, “We hope you get lucky tonight.” It was unexpected, cheeky, and totally fitting for this playful couple. The guests loved it—and it made for a few fun, instant wins throughout the night.
The Webbs’ Custom Photo Wall & Bold Dance Floor
Alex and Kaitlyn added a custom black and white checkered dance floor—and I’ll say it again: custom floors matter. They give your reception a defined space, visual texture, and a ton of style. The bold pattern paired perfectly with their sleek aesthetic, and it photographed beautifully.
Right next to the dance floor was one of my favorite photo booth setups. Rather than going the traditional route, the couple created a full accent wall of black and white prints from throughout their relationship. The images framed a glowing neon sign that read The Webbs in script. Guests took photos in front of it all night long, and it felt personal, intentional, and full of character.
Why This Wedding at Davis & Grey Farms Felt So Personal
What made this wedding stand out was how personal every moment felt. Alex and Kaitlyn were completely present on their wedding day. They laughed big, cried a few tears, and never took themselves too seriously. It wasn’t just a pretty wedding. Alex and Kaitlyn planned one that felt deeply joyful. That welcomed guests in and celebrated everything they love. And that’s what makes a wedding stick with you.
