Some weddings just hit differently—and this one absolutely did, in all the best ways. Ashley and Justin’s spring wedding at Davis & Grey Farms in Celeste, Texas, was filled with so much emotion, beauty, and intentional moments that it truly stuck with me. But what made this day especially meaningful was that I’ve known Justin for over 10 years. I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from a teenager into the kind, steady, Godly man who stood at the altar that day. To now be the one capturing such a huge milestone in his life felt like coming full circle—and I couldn’t be more honored to tell this part of his story.

Their Story: From “Yes” to “I Do” at Davis & Grey Farms wedding

When Justin proposed to Ashley, their joy and sense of adventure were impossible to miss. I had the chance to capture their proposal at a winery, and right from the start, their connection was clear and genuine. It wasn’t just the setting or the sparkling wine—it was the way they looked at each other, the easy laughter they shared, and the feeling of partnership that filled every frame.

Later, during their snowy engagement session, we found this beautiful balance between laughter and quiet tenderness. It was the kind of session where you feel like you’re capturing a private world between two people, a mix of playful fun and deep connection. Ashley’s bridal portraits were absolutely stunning, with natural light and soft textures highlighting her effortless elegance. Because we had already built this rhythm together, photographing their wedding was like spending the day with close friends, not clients.

There’s something indescribably special about watching someone you’ve known for a decade find their person—and then photographing the moment they promise forever. Justin’s journey from a teenager to the man standing there full of love, ready to commit—it added layers of meaning to every shot, every glance, every vow.

A Private First Touch and a Moment of Laughter

One of my favorite parts of the day was the private “first touch” Ashley and Justin shared. This is where the couple doesn’t see each other yet, but they hold hands, pray together, and share quiet words before the ceremony. It’s such a deeply intimate moment—full of anticipation, love, and grounding energy.

Just before this special moment, something hilarious happened that lightened the mood. Justin’s friend Austin arrived dressed as a bride—a surprise Ashley had planned to break the tension and make everyone laugh. Justin, and all of us capturing the moment, burst out laughing, and it was the perfect comic relief before the emotional quiet of the first touch.

After, Ashley and Justin found each other’s hands and shared a sweet moment. Ashley gave Justin an empty shoebox with a note she had written years ago, when she was little. It was a letter to her future husband. It was clear how much intention and heart they put into every detail of their wedding day.

Their ceremony took place outdoors, in front of the sweetest open-air white chapel on the Davis & Grey Farms wedding property. The setting was just perfect: airy, simple, and letting the natural beauty of nature take center stage.

One of my favorite moments was when Ashley’s voice came over the speaker as a surprise to Justin. She announced to everyone her excitement and anticipation for their marriage. Ashley walked down the aisle wearing a caped gown with a cathedral-length veil. Justin was waiting for her with tears in his eyes and the biggest smile.

They exchanged vows that were heartfelt and genuine. I couldn’t help but smile hearing them speak. The words were sincere, grounded, and full of love—the kind of promises that only come from someone who’s grown into the man he was always meant to be.

The whole ceremony felt deeply personal, like the perfect reflection of who Ashley and Justin are as a couple. A couple friend of the couple officiated the wedding too which made it that much more special.

  • A postcard photo display capturing memories from their travels and relationship journey — a storytelling element that invited guests into their world, full of adventure and shared moments.

A Dance-Filled Night to Remember

The reception was electric. Their choreographed first dance set the tone, and once the party started, the energy didn’t stop. From gym friends to parents, everyone was on the dance floor, celebrating Ashley and Justin’s new chapter.

One of my favorite moments came at the very end. Everyone else had cleared out of the space and Justin & Ashley step out to the little white chapel once more to share a private last dance.No phones, no distractions. Just soft lights, music, and that kind of quiet magic that you can’t script or plan for. It felt like the perfect close to a day full of meaning and joy.
